Collaborative ISACA San Diego & SecurityStudio Academy Coffee Talk: What is Microsoft Learn and What Can It Teach Us

This Coffee Talk features an open conversation with Luke Nyswonger, a technical content and learning experience leader who spent more than 22 years at Microsoft helping build and scale one of the largest technical education platforms in the world.

Luke was part of the team that launched Microsoft Learn and went on to lead programs spanning certification strategy, learning infrastructure, content onboarding, and major Azure guidance portfolios. The conversation will explore how Microsoft approached the challenge of teaching complex, fast-changing technology to millions of learners at scale — and what that experience offers to anyone building education, enablement, or certification programs today, including those of us working in cybersecurity and the CvCISO community.

Rather than a product walkthrough, this discussion will focus on the underlying decisions: how content strategy, learning design, and platform architecture come together to support real skill-building; how organizations balance self-service content against structured learning paths; and how AI is beginning to reshape content authoring, personalization, and the overall learning experience. Luke will also share perspective from his current work building an AI-powered certification platform, offering a practitioner's view of where learning technology is headed next.

As always, this Coffee Talk is free, open to the public, and qualifying participants can earn 1 CPE.
