About Us

The San Diego Chapter of ISACA is dedicated to helping its members develop strong competencies in the areas if information systems (IS) audit, governance, risk management, privacy, and security.  Our chapter benefits from a large and diverse membership (nearly 500 and counting) that work in a number of different functions across important sectors such as healthcare, financial services, banking, national defense, biotechnology, government, service providers, among others industries.  An important goal for our chapter is to meet the needs of our members and their organizations.  To that aim, our chapter meets at least once per month (typically on the 3rd Thursday of the month) to provide opportunities for continuing professional education, networking, and the sharing of best practices.

The San Diego Chapter of ISACA also collaborates with other regional and national organizations including:

  • Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA);
  • Association of IT Professionals (AITP);
  • Information Technology Service Management Forum (itSMF);
  • Information Systems Security Association (ISSA);
  • International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP); and
  • Among other organizations.

Our chapter is also focused on educational outreach and the needs of individuals joining the IS audit, security, risk management, and privacy professions.  Chapter events are designed to facilitate on-going knowledge of ISACA’s core subject domains and to support the advancement of the COBIT framework.  Our chapter is actively engaged in the region’s business and educational communities to promote ISACA’s core certifications CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, as well as the new CyberSecurity Nexus certificate.

Participants in our chapter benefit from the diverse backgrounds of other member and their willingness to advance the profession.  Organizations that are looking to recruit candidates are welcomed to post links for open positions to our chapter website.  Similarly, our chapter will help members that are between positions find new opportunities.  As an all-volunteer organization, we always welcome the support of our members.  Members looking to take on leadership roles and give back to the profession are invited to inquire about joining the San Diego Chapter’s Board of Directors.  Organizations are also welcomed to sponsor chapter meetings for a nominal fee.
